The 1951 versjon is the best !! Kathryn Grayson sweetest ever. The best actors and in technocolour. And a real boat...Very very very best version !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this opening over the 1936 version but other than that the 1936 version is superior

@pinpandan The 1936 version is better acted, and presents the songs as Kern and Hammerstein originally wrote them, with the show's original conductor conducting the music. And it features several members of the original Broadway cast , plus it doesn't change the story as much as the 1951 film does.

Is it possible for anyone to download this film, 1951 version in beautiful colour? There is already a b/w 1936 version downloaded which I enjoyed very much, but this coloured version wit Howard Keel, Kathryn Grayson and Ava Gardner would certainly be better. Thanks

Was lucky enough to see it on the screen in recent years at the Eastman House's Dryden Theater, Rochester, NY.
