Part 2 of films on the storm tide surge that flooded Kananook Creek, Frankston on 26-4-09. This part shows mostly houses affected between Beach Street and Fiocchi Avenue. It also shows the CBD area preceding them. It should be useful to demonstrate that raising the banks of the creek near the CBD risks more severe flooding further up-river. It is also wondered how much the channel deepening may be exacerbating flooding. It is also feared that, with global warming, interference in the bay and only make things worse.
It would be good to see on some of the aerial views the normal water level and the approximate levels on the night of the storm-as comparison.
A wild and torrid night.
