UPDATE: Just had the DCS unit replaced this week. It had a fault code. So far, no problems.

The day after I took delivery on my 2008 BMW 335i, I've encountered this issue periodically.

I've got comfort access, so the flob is in my pocket.

1. With the car locked, pull the handle and enter the car.
2. Foot on the break, press START.
3. The car doesn't start, most lights on the dash lite up, gong chimes and the wipers go on. (Note the ABS and airbag lights)
4. Regardless of what I do with the wiper paddle, they will not shut off.
5. Press START once more and the vehicle starts. Dash lights and wipers still on.
6. Put seat belt on, dash light still has the warning.

At this point, if you try to drive everything will stay on as listed above. Turn signal works, but does not go off after turn. Must shut off manually with paddle.

5. Foot off the break, pressing STOP, the engine shuts off and most of the dash lights except airbag and seat belt.
6. Press STOP again, the wipers shut off.
7. Get out of the car, lock the vehicle. Repeating this process, the issue still remains. This does not happen every time, however it's happened 5 times now and the only way to fix it is lock the car and leave it for 20+ seconds.

Electrical issue or software are my guesses. Definitely not happy about this since I'm now 6+ hours from a dealership. I'd like to hear opinions.

  • you own fault for living so far away froma bmw dealership. bmw over hear has a bumber to bumber warranty for 3 years of the car. which u can xtend as well

  • @tvain86 that is an asinine comment and irrelevant. Go get your facts straight.

  • @tvain86 Clearly you're incapable of rational thought, so I'm going to set you straight.

    1. My geographical location has NOTHING to do with the failure of the DCU.

    2. As stated in the video description, it was a NEW car. Thus covered by warranty for 4 YEARS. The issue was FIXED accordingly.

    3. Nowhere did I BLAME anyone, it was a genuine part failure.

    4. Intelligence, income and location of dealerships were not factors.

Go troll elsewhere and don't post again. Thanks.

  • I have a E60 530d sport with a similar problem. When driving the run-flat failure light comes on, transmission failure and the snow flake as per in this clip comes on. Do you think i have the same problem? Can my DCS unit be faulty?

  • @tvain86 relevance?

  • @Tyrewt Oh I would say intelligence is a factor because if you were intelligent you would not have accepted the car from a repair with an existing or new fault still present. You can't get any more noticable than something waving infront of your face, unless you really can't see too well.

The definition of a troll isn't someone who points out the obvious to you even if it does make you look stupid, so don't start trying that one. It's time for you to see a doctor or you will get sectioned!

  • @acuratlnigga Lol dude, your fucking Lexus is just a crappy ass electronic Toyota with a HUGE pricetag, AND its ugly as fuck

  • @acuratlnigga Lol you ain''t know where you are talking about? Do you? LMFAO

  • @Tyrewt X5 and X6 also ;)

  • @SMOOODY13 No, not realy... Lol ever drove a Mercedes? Probably not because you are COMPLETELY talking shit...

  • @10camss Umm... no, the chime heard in this video is non-iDrive.

  • @Tyrewt The non-idrive models have a boring standard ding, but the I-drive models have this chime .

  • @tvain86 glad to hear u got it fixed. and i shall keep on trolling hear . to see how some likes to waste their time by posting a video like this!
