(Sacramento) The State Assembly and State Senate debated and voted today on the spending cuts included in the Legislative Budget Conference Committees revisions to the state budget. The Conference Committees proposal was defined after more than a month of public debate. However, GOP Lawmakers refused to vote for the spending cuts, leaving the state without the needed budget revisions for another day. The budget revision package will be reconsidered. Budget Conference Committee Chair Noreen Evans (D-Santa Rosa) says Republicans should not be claiming they dont know whats in the legislation and says its critically important for the Legislature to pass the budget package because the state will be out of cash as of July 1st.
