Amtrak Empire Builder just outside of New Lisbon WI Winter 1985

Phase 2 and 3 Superliners, Triple F40's in Phase 3 at speed kicking up a little snow on the SOO/Milwaukee Road double track main line, what could be a better sight! Listen as the famous "Amtrak Jack" is heard on the radio. The date in sometime in Winter 1985. Anybody remember Conductor Amtrak Jack when he worked the Empire Builder?

Gone too is the ex Santa Fe Hi-Level "Step Down" transition dorm (behind the baggage cars with the Sleepy Hollow seats) where conductor Jack set up his case. Amtrak now places coaches between the Seattle bound diner and the Portland bound lounge.
