COUNTDOWN BEGINS TO 3RD ANNUAL BROOKLYN MUSIC FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK
New York (IMAGES LLC): With just a few days left before the Brooklyn Music Festival unfolds at the Aviator Sports & Recreation Center, Brooklyn on American Independence Day July 4, 2010 reggae fever has gripped the tri-state area as fans prepare for what should be another exciting event.
Since its inception in 2008, the Brooklyn Music Festival has attracted and showcased some of the best musical talent regionally and globally. The sizzling festival, described as one of the best on the eastern seaboard, will again boast an impressive lineup with immortal favorites such as Atlanta hit machine B.O.B, multi platinum selling reggae artiste Shaggy, Shabba Ranks, Gregory Issacs, King Yellowman, Barrington Levy, Tony Matterhorn, Lady Saw, Assassin, Tanya Stephens, Daville, Angeles Band, ska bands The Rudie Crew and New York Ska Jazz Ensemble. The late Peter Tosh son - Tosh-1; Bennybwoy, Little Hero, Mikey Jarrett, New Kingston, Zylan, Kayla Bliss, Courtney "Yogi" John, P.Zed and Nesbeth will also perform.
To ensure that the music community has all the facts about this year's festival, event organisers Jammins Entertainment hosted an impressive launch party at ROAM-NYC, in Manhattan last week. The event attracted scores of New York-based Caribbean American media companies, reggae celebrities and music, entertainment and fashion VIPs. Event CEO George Crooks promised another flawless show this year. Reggae stalwarts Da'Ville, Natural Black, Benny Bwoy and Mikey Jarrett were at the launch and all participated in numerous radio, print and television interviews, sharing exciting details of what enthusiastic music lovers can expect when they perform at this year's festival.
Part of the proceeds from this year's festival will be donated to the American Foundation of the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) scholarship fund. Gates open at 12 noon and show time is 1:00 PM with free parking available to all patrons. Children under 12 are free. Tickets are now on sale at all leading ticket outlets throughout the New York tri-state region. For more, go to www.TIX4ME.com / www.brooklynmusicfestival.com or 718.282.8041
