  • I guess the one person who disliked the song doesn't dig the snow and rain and bright sunshine.

  • Heard this in a Madison Wisc. bar, thumping on the jukebox. Summer of '71. :)

  • Wow does this go back...Love it.

  • @jhchouston It was a version (I believe) covered by the group Beat goes Bang--they used the version in "Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead" that's where I first heard it as a kid, haha...try that!

  • I saw these guys live once and that opening guitar is one of the most unique sounds I've heard, or seen done.

  • I remember listening to this on the beach at the Jersey Shore.I was 18 years old, this song fresh, radios all over the beach, smokin anything you want, girls so friendly, everything so cheap, people so real. It was cool..... We were drivin around in a lemon yellow 67 Ford my friend called Chet. We had a case of beer in the trunk The case cost 5 bucks. We stayed overnight at "44DRoberta's" house party. Steve got her cause he had that car, blond hair, and all the right phrases.

  • woooo hooooo ....awesome song !!!

  • I really like this original version. But, there is also a remake of this song I remember from 1988 that I am really trying to find. It was a little faster than this one, and it was played in the night-clubs. If anyone went to Club 6400 in Houston, you might remember it from there. Would love to find a copy...

  • The horn arrangement is killer

  • Nice - very nice!

  • Yep... I was 8 years old when this song came out. And I remember going Roller Skating at USA in Rochester, NY and skatin my butt off when they played this song !! Wooo hooo!

  • you've got to love a song where his dog eats purple flowers..
