This bad boy could do three-way SLI, but even on its own it ratchets up the performance bar with a factory overclocked GPU, 896 MB of memory, a PhysX processor and performance that spanks its rivals from ATI.

It depends on your definition of worth. -- Will it be faster? Yes. However, in going between a 8800gt and a Core 216 you may find that other parts of your system are bottlenecking your performance. Look for 3D Mark benchmarks that are close to your setup as possible.

i have chosen 2 cards.which one is the best EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Video Card 896MB DDR3 Vs XFX Radeon HD 4870 Video Card 1024MB GDDR5 these are the 2 cards 4870 has GDDr5 but 256 bit color and 260 has 448 bit colors i guess so please tell me which 1 is better 4870 has 1 Gb ddr3 memo but 260 has 896 memory but ddr3 which 1 is better for gaming i mean i want them for gaming better in performance which one is the best 4870 has good core clock as well as memory clock.on 19" monitor

Oh... if you're upgrading from the 7900, then you'll definitely notice the performance increase. If you can choose between the 260 and the core 216, definitely go with the 216.

It's better than the cheaper GTX 260. However, if you currenty have a GTX 260 and plan to upgrade to the cores 216 you're not going to see enough of a performance bump to justify the cost.
