A very long (about 4 minutes) promo for the CBS-TV series "The Good Guys", which starred Bob Denver, Herb Edelman and Joyce Van Patten. This is one of those series a lot of people remember watching yet somehow, didn't last long. The copy of the promo here is a little poor but watchable. This promo is all I have from the show - I do wish somebody out there would release the series on DVD. This promo comes from a reel CBS made to promote their 1968 line-up. Exactly how or when and to whom the promo was shown, I dunno.

Art Gilmore....I was thinking he sounded like Dick Tufeld.

This is from the network's 1968-'69 fall preview special, sent to local affiliates for scheduling at their own discretion at least a week before the season began, on September 23rd. It was also designed to be shown in individual segments for the affiliates to promote each series, wherever there was "space" on their schedule, day or night. The late Art Gilmore is announcing [he was the voice behind most of CBS' filmed promos at the time]. "THE GOOD GUYS" pilot was videotaped {"kinnied" here}.

OMG, that was really funny. (Those rolls getting sucked up at 2:07 was great.)
I can't watch any sitcom today, network or premium-channel; they're all too smart for they're own good. Back then, TV was just plain fun. The last great stuff on TV was Garry Shandling's stuff.
