The exclusion of Australia's infantry troops from frontline conflicts, including in Iraq, has left many feeling "ashamed of wearing their Australian uniform",

  • I remember an old vet (American) saying "I will walk point on the first combat patrol thru the gates of hell if there are Aussies in the patrol" They are great troops and deserve to be recognized as pros.

  • This is total bullshit. We have one of the greatest armies in the world considering our size and limitted experience being a young country yet out piss poor government wont allow them to do their job! Our government really does need to pull their head out of their ass

  • just the media not having a clue about whats going on over there. Aussie do get sent on high risk missions it's just because the media doesn't know about them or speak to people that aren't skilled enough to do these missions.

  • The Australians have been good friends to the United States, coming to our aid in WW2, Vietnam War and the current war. I for one would be glad to serve alongside Aussies if I were in the military.

  • @boomtao Spoken like somebody who never had a normal level of testostorone in their emasculated state of 'manhood'

Men join the military for adventure and to test themselves and their courage, well we do that in Australia anyway.Maybe in your country people join the military for a job,or to get cheap college loans or some other selfish reason not related to honour or integrity or fighting for one's belief...

Oh by the way, 'Anti-racism' is a codeword for Anti-White

  • I guess they'd rather be shot at. They should be thankfull to their government for making such a deal!

  • @AussieSoldier1984 Wish I could get my grandfather’s records but when we tried all we got was a bunch of papers that had had a black marker go over everything. They denied that he ever left Townsville but we know for a fact he served at Horn Island. We aren’t stopping but the government is less than helpful

  • @MrMapex2010 i expected as much (generalising), the military records i have viewed have been very helpful for me tracing my family members that have served and their units/dates/battles etc. i have even traced my great-great-great grandfather back to the Welch Fusiliers from Britain. sometimes u got to spend money to find the right information tho. Also there was an investigation into the Darwin Bombing, many servicemen simply fled as they thought they were bout to be taken by Japs

  • @AussieSoldier1984Yeah I was generalising but I still don't put much faith in our military records. They said only 2-3 people died in the Darwin bombings and we know that was a load of shit. My grandfather was called all the names under the sun when he said that he was burying hundreds of bodies during WW2 when he was in the RAAF. But yeah by WW2 the cities had become more developed and the population had risen since WW1

  • @GrandmaMargaret1 seriously bro give the british arrogance a rest. Yeah Britain have/had great fighter/generals but they also had failures galore. And trying to measure up the sum of courage of different nations soldiers is plain stupid. And in Australia we arnt gun ppl, we use our fists usually to sort out problems. sure in a war we will pick up the old musket though. Give it a rest Granny.

  • @MrMapex2010 One of the greatest fallacy's about WWII for Australia was that there were more farmers/bushmen than city boys, this is simply wrong most were city/suburb boys and men. WWI had more bushmen/farmers tha WWII and most were mounted infantry (Light Horse). During WWII the population was around 7 million and most lived in the cities and communities on the coastline, in fact i read somewhere it was anywhere between 70-80% of the population lived in the cities.

  • @Standuble no it takes a gun to make a soldier and 30 soldiers to make a general
