@delomusicomb I'm not trying to make an argument here, after all this info is just from wiki. but here is a quote from wiki's "Old Crow Whiskey" page:
"Old Crow is also mentioned in the original recording of the R&B song "Hi-Heel Sneakers", by Tommy Tucker, in a third verse which was edited out of the released version: "I've got my Old Crow liquor / And my paycheck in my hand / Because Big John's bootleg whiskey / Cost much more than I can stand."

What a fantastic find!!! Who knew there was a 4 minute original version of Hi-Heeled Sneakers by Tommy Tucker (Robert Higgenbotham)? You've probably already deciphered as much of the new verse as I could:
"You've got my Old Crow liquor and my paycheck in my hand
I got my Old Crow liquor I got my paycheck in my hand
Big John's ??? costs much more than I can stand"
-
..... rhymes with "Tommy Tucker" (suggestions on a postcard please)

It was on a freebie "MAXIM" cassette called "BAD BOY BLUES" given free with a guitar magazine. If you pick up the full lyrics to that 3rd verse let me know; I've always fudged it with my own line as I can't decipher the words!
I got my 'ol corn liquor and my paycheck in my hand, Big John's bootlegged whiskey cost much more than I can stand....

Brilliant! - "Big John's bootleg" sounds right, but I don't hear "Whiskey". Could it be "Big John's bootleg baby, costs much more than I can stand.........???" - I can't hear what he sings after "stand"
Thanks also for "Old Crow liquor" - I've been singing "Home-grown liquor".

Great sounds and a great show! So this is what young Yorkshire boys get up to when they've been sent to their bedrooms in disgrace! Hairbrush just off camera, eh? ... Thumbs and regards.
