Each red sign you come across offers a place to duck when the slender columns come down and go up simultaneously.

For those who have trouble getting through the area with the slender column with the spikes, keep going until you reach the sign with the red arrow facing right. You can stand to the left or the right of the sign avoiding the columns by ducking. There is enough of a space to stay safe to make it to the end to enter the big doors.
