Discharge were british Hard-core Punk and with their speed and heavyness they created the D-Beat sub-genre and then some bands took the Discharge and D-Beat inspiration to create Crust-Punk. Plus the whole Metal Sub-genres I said to you.

@MayhemOnMars Discharge of course also influenced Grindcore, Gore/Grind, Death, a lot of Thrash Metal bands, Crossover Thrash, Deathrash, Black Metal, (I think that also Sludge Metal,but I'm not sure), Groove Metal, and maybe other Extreme Metal styles and sub-genres. But watching Rock History, or the Rock'N'Roll Hall of Fame you won't see Discharge. Discharge are masters, AGREE, but more underground. MAYBE DISCHARGE TOOK THE SEX PISTOLS AS AN INFLUENCE. @MayhemOnMars I just think that Sex Pistols are pioneer in the British Punk. And that's a fact. So, they influenced a lot of Punk, Post-Punk, Alternative, Grunge, Sleazy, and of course Heavy, N.W.O.B.H.M., Speed Metal and Thrash Metal bands. Sex Pistols Influenced many more bands. Its obvious!! But Discharge were british Hard-core Punk and with their speed and heavyness they created the D-Beat sub-genre and then some bands took the Discharge and D-Beat inspiration to create Crust-Punk.
