My name is Major Short. On this video I am the person playing the bass. That picture was taken many months ago. I am now 85. I have no precise idea when or where these shots were taken but we were obviously in a TV studio some time in the late fifties.

@conklin261 Hello Mr. Short! How are you? Fine? We hope yes! Is very important to know for us, because you records we´ll never forget you. Thanks for your melodies. Greetings from Argentina again!

Ray Conniff was their arranger/conductor at Columbia back then.
I put this back on my 1955 playlist to replace the 'unavailable' copy and youtube now forces me to use their 'chrome' browser or I'm forbidden to edit my playlists !!!
My 450 playlists feature over 300 artists and a list for every year since 1900 so you can listen like you've stepped back in time.
If she leads me to the altar, then I'm sunk
cause I can't tell the preacher I was drunk
So Lord have mercy on a no 'count sinner
Give me one more chance to let another guy win 'er
Cross my heart and I hope to die
I'll never, never, EVER tell another white lie. " saludos Marcelo

Charlesnorte te mando la letra "Cross my heart and I hope to die
I'll never, never, ever tell another white lie
Took a little doll out on a date last night
Next to her, *Gravel Gertie* would have looked all right
Now I'm between the devil and the deep blue sea
'cause I said "Baby, you look good to me"
I told her I loved her but, oh, how I lied
And now she's gettin' set to be my blushin' bride...

Mr. Short let me tell you that I' so proud to have your coment; I'm a fan of Somethin' Smith & The Redheads since 1975 when I found a 78 rpm record that was bought by my father in 1955, of course it was "It's a sin to tell a lie"; it was a big succes here in my country Argentina. Please tell me your email 'cause I want to know more of you. Bye Marcelo
