@parukutty2 How do you want to compare, frankly speaking? Shafran is of my taste, and that is all what I can say.
-
yes - D is green, A is red, C is blue, what is G, maybe yellow?
I love this cellist. My new idol.

Shafran and Rostropovich competed twice, once in Budapest, and once in Prague. They both came first, twice. Oistrakh who was on the jury of the first competition wrote afterwards that both cellists are complete masters of cello sound. Their light virtuosity and elegant technique should be the envy of many violinists.
If only Knushevitsky hadn't died so young. We would have had three impossibly great cellists with completely different styles.

in my opinion, shafran was way better

so unbelievable. such a beautiful recording

wooah i think this is the first time ive heard bach being played in a raised tuning: A#(Bflat) D#(Eflat) G# (Aflat) C# (Dflat)
-
ive thought of him (i.e. vibrato) as chocolate
-
I've always thought of D as being green.
thank God for both of them, no need to compare:)
