Is this a rock concert? Everyone is just standing there fucking staring at sasha. Boring as fuck!
-
@jimjamiejames btw, would you suggest Ableton for production too? Or, something else?
-
@jimjamiejames very nice, thanks bud...
-
@gangbangersrgay i did dj but now i only produce. if i did get asked to play out again i would go with ableton now
-
@jimjamiejames great.. I just bought the APC-40 Ableton controller, but haven't really messed with it yet. I'll let you know how things go. Are you a DJ yourself?
-
@gangbangersrgay ....to get more out of the tracks your working with but it is a slightly different way of doing things. i would say some sort of midi controller is essential. i think you can download a free but limited version to have a play with so maybe try that an see how you go

@gangbangersrgay you can dj on ableton yes. i myself use it for both production and djing. what i like about ableton is how easy it is to get into compared to similar programs yet it still has great depth for more complicated production. the workflow is great too and its easy to get a lot done in not too much time. you as is it easy to learn to dj on well it depends. you dont need to beat match in the traditional way so it wont help you there. if you musically minded then you should enable you..

@jimjamiejames listen, u sound like u know what ur talking about. I've been DJ-ing on CDJs for a little while, but have recently become fascinated with Ableton. Is it a good program to learn to DJ. I know big guys like Sasha are doing it, but do you have to have superior skills or something to learn this program? Just wondering, because it looks fascinating...

@gangbangersrgay yes hes using ableton live and his own custom controller called maven
-
@jimjamiejames is he using Ableton Live?
this is daft.innereyefull, are you sure you have been djing that long, cos even someone like me who has been djing ohhhh, 9 years,knows that theres more than just beatmatching. besides, even with cd decks YOU STILL HAVE TO BEATMATCH.they do NOT do that for you.credit to sasha for sticking his neck out and using ableton.his vinyl sets of old were awesome, but ableton has allowed him to move to the next level.if you've seen him live, the magic is still there, but theres more of a 'live' element...

sasha has taken it to the next level and although simple beatmatching is made easier on ableton it opens the door for a huge amount more which make his work more impressive than most. sasha can mix vinyl, cd, digital whatever but he does more than that creating live edits, loops over the top, extra textures and effects. each time it could varry depending on the crowd.i dont care how old you are or what experience you claim to have grow up and wise up!
