I could be wrong about this & if I am, sorry. But, I thought you had to be part of the National or Junior National team in order to be selected for the international events? I could be wrong, but as I look at who has been chosen to compete in Germany & France I'm only seeing girls who are part of either team.

Ashley is NOT on the national team, despite wining the American Classic.

Amazing choreography on floor. I'm impressed with her tumbling in this routine. Shame she fell on the last double pike. Her uneven bars are gorgeous as well.

Yes, I would have ranked her. In my opinion she is a beautiful gymnast and just as good as some of the top 6 in the country. So sad she quit. Stop the hate , appreciate !

I hope Ashley considers NCAA. Even if the elite level has become something she no longer wants to pursue she could certainly earn herself a place in a really top program. It would seem a shame to miss out of that opportunity. Jay, Miss Val, Greg, have you called Ashley yet?

Those were great VT and a wonderfully performed FX, despite the fall.
I know she's got the skills on UB, but she needs to get them in her routine and consistent.

They're not hating, they're stating facts
She had a poor showing at 2008 Visas because of injury and did not make the national team. She hasn't been added to it since then, check the USAG site. American Classic is a NATIONALS qualifier, not a national team qualifier. And her difficulty ISN'T up to par with the ones that went out to Europe except on VT and FX, the ones that went to Europe had 5.6+ D scores on UB, where Ashley is a point below them, and BB, where she's still not quite there.

How come they were using the old scoring system at this meet. While Ashley was on beam the scores in the background were like 8.8 etc. ???

There was a state meet going on at the same time, the scores you saw were for those athletes.
