There is an epidemic of lifestyle disease in America with Type 2 Diabetes and High Blood Pressure affecting about 67% and 31% adults, respectively. Since these are both predicated and subdued by diet and exercise, we have a choice to follow the necessary guidelines to live healthy lives. At age 51, 'Old school' has gotten himself back in shape after being diagnosed with high blood pressure 2 years ago, mainly through his love for the game of basketball. Keeping up with the speed and energy of the younger generation on the basketball court has forced his body into good physical conditioning. He dreadfully became 190+lbs, about 15lbs heavier than his current weight, from eating a diet of unhealthy foods such as chips and pork. After changing his diet to lean meats, negating the snacks, taking his prescribed medication, and exercising consistently, he dropped down to 175 and his blood pressure is back to a healthy range.
