My name is the One, some people call me the Funk!
It's definitely Skeet on bass, with Dennis Chambers on drums. Bennie Cowan, Greg Thomas and Greg Boyer on horns. Michael "Clip" Payne on background vocals. Larry Fratangelo on percussion. Bernie Worrell on keyboards. Lige didn't play bass for Parliament/Funkadelic in those days. He didn't start playing with the mob until the P-Funk Allstars days. RIP Garry "Starchild" Shider, Ray "Stingray" Davis and Mallia "Queen of Funk" Franklin.

Yeah, that sounds more like Skeet than Lige. Lige didn't have those kind of chops.

I use to pop-lock off this shit in the 6th grade, back when pop-locking was new on the scene, at least on the west coast, (1979-1980).

To settle this debate once and for all, go to "One Nation Under A Groove, Pt. 2," taken from this same show, and go to the 16-second mark. At that point there is no question as to who the bass man is.
