So this is a rap we came up with for an AP Us History Project.
Lyrics:
Everything was straight, everything was cool
Until the French and Indian War made everyone act a fool
Before, the Colonists could get away by salutary neglect
But now, the British taxed everything and thats a fact.
The laws that restricted our sweetness was called the sugar act
The laws that restricted our paper was known as the stamp act
Proclamation/Taxation without Representation
Would be a main reason to make up our own Declaration.
We dont put up with the British and their tyranny
Now here come the boys known as the sons of liberty
What kills us the most is the innocents getting murder
Examples of these events is the damn Boston massacre
The sons of liberty came up with a plan of misery
For the British and their tea called the Boston tea party
This would create a stir for the British for awhile
And the British would finally lay off of her child
Alright here comes John Adams with his idea of independence
Nothings gonna stop him and he gets it all the way to the group of correspondence
but thats when it gets tense once the British heard of this they lost all common sense and waged an all out war!
But At first no one ever wants to fight
The colonists just wanna stand and show their might
In the light of the British sight
But on the day in Lexington and concord
An accidental shot heard around the world
And so the start of the revolutionary war had begun
With a gun, we would have to learn to kill a man to win
No matter what is done.
This new fighting style of ours was a big sensation
It gave Thomas Jeff a chance to write that famous Declaration
So George Washington, he was the general at the time
His strategies turned the British faces sour like a lime
At the battle of Valley Forge we were at the edge of defeat
Almost at the point of retreat
But it changed like the tap of this beat
At the battle of Saratoga marked the turning point of the war
Everything was intense no one knew what was in store
Cause here came the French with their helpful pack
Now "its now or never" shawty we can never look back
Yorktown was the last battle that was there to be win
This war was a mighty blood bath and full of tons great sin
It was full of blood and sure everyone was full of pity
Everyone was happy when they heard of the Paris peace treaty...
The beat we used is from Eminem's "Lose Yourself".
cant understand a word you say.

No, actually the colonists weren't allowed to vote for members of the British parliament. That was the whole point and the reason we decided to kick your collective asses out of our country and self-govern.
And lay off the boys who made this rap. It's pretty obvious it was for a school project.
Besides, what would YOU know about how we pronounce words in the US? We have multiple regional accents.
