Blacktail Deer Hunt at the Native Hunt properties

Went out with Hank Shaw to see if we could find him a good management buck. I had a couple of extra days to scout prior to the hunt, and had the ranch to myself almost the whole time. Gave me lots of opportunity to video some of the exotics as well as native species on the place.

And anyone who has issue with the "high fences", just note that these blacktail don't seem to think they're all that high as they move across at will, to and from the neighboring properties. .. plus the fact that the fence encloses approximately 1000 acres... bigger than some farms I've hunted back east. It's a good time with unpressured animals, but this is no hunt in a box.

Getntail, this is down near King City, CA. Private land, although it's right next to Ft Hunter Liggett, which is open to public hunting. A little more crowded there, though.
