Rare & hot stuff from the Georgia Peach Pickers, as Boots Williams coaxes some suspiciously electric sounds out of his upturned acoustic guitar and the girls swing it in the middle. Fantastic!
Boots & Bonnie Harris gave me my first full time job as a professional musician. Boots hired me to play guitar in his band at the Hat & Cane. He eventually retired from the stage and I played on for them for about 10 years. At one point Tom Harris (their son) came in on drums. Those were the best times of my life. I learned so very much from Boots & Bonnie about the music business. I will be forever grateful to them and all of the loyal people who would faithfully show up to hear us play.
I drank a beer or two in Boots Hat and Cane. He was always kind to me and I was sad to hear he passed. Unfortunately I never got to see him play, until now. Thanks for posting this!
Just watched this video for the first time with Ms Bonnie, his wife, it was so neat, she loved it. She says he was the kindest, most honest person, loved people, great entertainer, kept his club, "Boots Hat and Cane" packed and was a great husband and loved all his seven children. God Bless the Harris Family.
Music runs in the family... Hal Harris' grandson Jake Harris is with a band that has just posted three original songs on here. The band is called Featherface... check them out. Boots and Hal are gone but the music lives on in their sons and grandkids. Very cool.
Clyde "Boots" Harris is my father's uncle. His brother, Hal Harris was also a successful musician throughout his life and he is in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Glad to see other Harris's on here commenting.
The main guitarist is Boots Harris (my father) he also wrote this song, as they are lip syncing so to say he is not playing a regular steel guitar. Incidently , Boots as a member of the Georgia Peach Pickers had the first electric steel guitar on the Grand Ole Opry. He started his career w/ Hank Williams Sr.

Enjoyed this a lot. My dear friend, Calvin Ruff, played with Curly Williams and the Georgia Peach Pickers in the late 40's.
