A photo montage of my own personal mountain lion photos, taken in Colorado with motion activated trail-cam. The sound recording is a female lion in heat calling for a mate, recorded locally. Some lion kittens are shown, and mule deer are being eaten in a few photos. These are real wild mountain lions that may still be hunting and roaming! (more)

in all honestly...when you hear that scream in real life, its sort of like a baby crying, but it still makes you shit your pants just a little and you never forget it

We heard this weekend in person.. at first I thought it was a child crying and then i thought the kid might be laughing instead... nope, it was a mountain lion! the neighbors have been there for 13 years and NEVER heard that sound before that evening.. it was beyond creepy!! it was less than 20 feet from the front door and my husband! We want a mountain home now! HAHAHAHA! we love the mountains!

They sound like a woman screaming followed immediately by a man moaning from a kick to the balls. Woman got scared kicked the man in the nuts.

At the Tampa Zoo, they had a Florida Panther (which is what they call Mountain Lions in Florida) who was in serious heat, and these were the sounds she was making, although not as echoy or high pitched. Funny thing, she did it every time she looked at me.

I've never seen one, but when my mom was a little kid (back in the 30s) they were common where she lived in Georgia. She said the same thing, that they sound like a woman screaming. She said it creeped her out to hear them at night.

Northern Michigan doesn't have many of these cats, but they are my favorite animal. And I would love to see one someday!

i was camping with my wife on our 1 year anniversary and she is from Iowa and I live in Northern California and lol this sound happened at about 3am. lol I woke up because it was like right next to our tent and was like shoot I think that's a mountain lion. Then I heard it tree up. It was amazing my reaction was a little off thought I probably shouldn't of grabbed my hand axe and a long walking stick that I sharpened earlier that day and ran the 30 yards the car with my wife.

One time I was asleep in my bedroom (which is right in front of our porch) and about 5am a mountain lion got on the porch and started screaming. It scared the living shit out of me.
