Kitten is best friends with Doberman

Why did no one tell me how cute kittens are? Because they are very cute. And I think Sugar Tree the Doberman agrees! She just loves Pancake. And she's sooo gentle with him. This is a great example of why breed specific legislation doesn't work. Whether it's a Doberman Pinscher or a Pit Bull- every dog is different.

For those that missed the last video... Pancake is a kitten my friend bottle raised after he was found walking on the hot pavement in a parking lot in over 100 degree weather. She went out of town for an undetermined amount of time and left him in my care.

I'm delighted to hear that you have been "converted", so to speak, and now like cats! They are so much more personable, affectionate, and adorable than people think. I think a lot of people have the "stinky, selfish, grumpy" idea of cats in their minds at first, but that's not a true portrayal of cats at all. If you keep Pancake, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by just how wonderful cats really are! :)

You're right- never having owned a cat before, I was really surprised at how affectionate Pancake is. I always thought cats were cute (and being on the internet, they're everywhere :) ), but I didn't realize they had such loving personalities.

I'm not knowledgeable about dogs, nor in raising them. But how is it that your dogs have such a gentle demeanor towards other things? I can't imagine all dogs are like this towards kittens. Is it because of how you raised them from babies, introducing them to different animals, that they are used to this? Is it discipline? Or is Sugar Tree a female, more nurturing? I'm at a loss. :)

It has a lot to do with socialization when the dog is a puppy. I took Sugar Tree with me everywhere and let her experience a lot of different things. She's used to being around other animals and is very gentle. I also believe that dogs reflect a lot of how their owners act and since I love caring for animals, so do my dogs. I'm sure genetics also play a part, too.

I have a question! You've said a lot that you yourself give most vaccinations to your animals. I want to do that as well, but would probably have to learn a bit how to before doing so. I don't have a lot of money and this seems convenient. Can you tell me all about how you give your animals shots and if you had training or research done? Where do you get the medicine? I hope you can answer. Thanks :)

Sure! I buy all my vaccinations from Jeffers Pet. Overnight shipping is a must. Giving a subq injection is easy. You can probably watch videos of how it's done here on youtube.

Cute Vid, by the way. I tried to get a kitty I had to be friends with my Wrott, but their first meeting was a disaster and after that the cat just beat the dog up when ever she had a chance.
