It could have been much worse. It was worse than I first thought it was. This is the long, full version. The very short version with slow motion is here:

Same Crash, Slow Motion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5rH-Yfx3ZM

Ironically, if I had stayed in 1st gear, I probably wouldn't now be stuck in 2nd gear. I still need to replace my fork seals anyway, so...

Here's a toast to walking...er... limping, to work (3 miles) for the next several days! Payday can't come soon enough.

Special thanks to the FedEx man. And special thanks to Kawi for designing that internal piece to be a weak spot, so that it would give before something more expensive would (like a shift fork). Seriously, major design props for that. Saved me mucho coinage.

  • I'm glad it wasn't worse, slow wrecks hurt just the same though. Takes guts to ride in snow :)

LMAO on the speed version and sound, sounded like a gazoo!

  • @lauriejennifer good to hear that somebody like my videos yes i had more sponsors and... i just sad NOOB because i think it´s just dangerous to ride on those streets but cool bike

  • When you drive on snow or on ice, put your 2 feets on the floor :D You look stupid but when the front wheel slides off, you can grab it back immediatly. No more falls :D And buy snow tires...

  • You gotta be stupid for driving with tires like that in winter. You are able to hurt yourself and others. Think others too. No doubt why they say don't let women to drive.

  • @lauriejennifer what are those things on your bars? Need a set for winter.

When I ride in the snow or wherever i think there might be ice ill slow down and hover my feet just above the ground. I was once cycling on the pavement in Winter and the path was covered in a sheet of about 10cm thick ice. When i went over it on my bike , i immediately started to slide. The feet method was the only thing that stopped me falling. Sure i could have went on the grass , but wheres the fun in that?! XD

  • If you need to ride in condition that get close or below 45 then you need a cold weather rated tire. S+M and offroads are useless because like an all season tire the compound will get too hard and lose grip. The K60 Heidenau Snowtex are a true winter compound tire that will maintain its pliability (GRIP) even when cold and will out perform studs on roads even with ice. Read up on winter tires for cars, the same apply for bikes, silica compound is more important then tread or studs for cold.

  • haha :D i had the same accident but i was going faster.. dont really hurt your body, but your hearth when you watch at you bike all scratched :(

  • a) nice hand condoms. b) you should stud some offroad tires for winter riding on snow/ice
