They've militarized the police. Any rational person would have to ask themselves, "Why would they need that many police & riot police for a peaceful student protest?" I've been noticing a trend within the Occupy movement. It seems like these University/Student protests get cracked down on harder than any other group of protesters out there (at least within the US).
