  • It would be better if you write down what you are saying because there are times when you say something different and play something different. Among others, you are playing these variations:

dha dhina gina dha tina kina

dha dhina gina na dhina gina

dha dhina gina na tina kina

even though you say that you are playing:

dha dhina gina na gina gina

  • ThX for watching. You are right about that line in this video I didn't have chance to correct. The actual letters of this beat are

Dha DhiNa GiNa, Na DhiNa GiNa.

DhiNa is a copmbined leter, difficult for the learners to grasp. When I learned this beat initially, I practiced this beat as

Dha Gi Na Gi Na : Na Gi Na Gi Na

Once I get this it was easy to play the first one. That's how I happened to say that in the lesson. The actual letters may be different in other books. ThX for feedback.

  • Dear mr venkat, thanks very much. u made me to perform/learn basics and as i m reading other msgs u mentioned if u r in sydney u can help . i am in sydney so any way i can get more personal help from you. it will be nice.

  • Honestly, it doesn't matter to me if he's teaching it wrong. He is sharing with other people all over the world what he knows and he is trying. And he is succeeding at informing all of us who wish to learn.

  • Thank you so much for teaching us all this..really appreciate it..

  • Thank you Mr. venkat for your time.

To all the jockers, who know it all. You try to make a video and try to teach. See how you come out.

Why don't you hire a personal instructor and spend some money if you are that serious about right and wrong.

  • False. Lol what do you mean is it true? As in a beat? Anything is true on the tabla.

  • is this true,, da di gi na na gi gi na

  • lol

  • there is no difference between gi, ga, ge. its same. But when you pronounce it, for melody, we use it differently.

  • WOW an italian tabla player! lol I never seen that...I am from afghanistan and we use the tabla very extensively in our music but i never thought italians would ever know or play tabla! ha!!
