This is my 45-120 I made from reaming out a 45-70 H&R Buffalo Classic. The loads I used in the video are about equal to a .458 Winchester Magnum, but in a gun with less ideal stock design, and it's also very lightweight.

  • Are you still able to shoot .45/70 in this gun?

  • @TheSherminator64

You can, but I do not.

  • @tykempster why not?

  • @intezam You get the rest of the chamber dirty since the longer brass isn't in there. Can make it hard to chamber longer rounds if it gets too gunky.

  • Nicely done...

  • Lol you could load up some bullets the size of a fountain pen in her. :D *jokes* Nice rifle, ingenious project.

  • @pottyputter05 About 9 lbs.

  • @tykempster how heavy is the gun, iam guessing not heavy enough to stop the horrid stock from shitting on u lol

  • @tykempster Great answer, that explains it very well. Merry Christmas btw.

  • I have an H&R Buffalo Hunter in .45-70 and a Sharps repro in .45-120. The H&R with blackpowder cartridges is fine and shoots great. Rechambering the H&R to .45-120 is neat, but this rifle is lightweight to begin with. Recoil has got to be pretty stiff. Even in a 12 pound Sharps, the .45-120 recoil is noticeable.

  • I like it.
