whare was the deck guns !? i see no master streams set up for this fire

That has to be the most INEPT piece of firefighting I have ever seen! That department obviously follows the attack plan of "Bring the fire down to the level of the water". They lost a garage that could have been saved. I would never want to fight a fire with ANY of the crews of either engine on scene. These videos should be shown as examples of how NOT to do it!

We do regular PAR calls at working fires. The reasons I posted this part of the video is 2 fold. How long it takes to get the full par count & how soon the roof collapsed after the evacuation was ordered. People should take into account how long a PAR check will take. The bigger the incident, the longer and how fast a roof can come in after the evacuation order was given.

Also notice the feedback at the command post. Turn down your radio when you approach the incident commander!

A couple of observations. Emergency evac tones/message 0:13-0:29. First PAR at 1:47 (at the recommendation of 540 -- nice use of CRM). One officer did not know his PAR status at 3:45. All units have PAR at 4:07. That's almost 4 minutes after the emergency traffic to evac the structure. That's an important lesson for all of us. Call a PAR immediately after an adverse event on the fireground and all officers should know their PAR status at all times! We can't afford to let this take 4 minutes.
did all ff's get out?

I am wondering why the truck is set up on the other side of the house ??? very little lines from what I can see in operation. maybe I am not seeing the lines ...

Bugguy905,
Good question!!! Another reason for posting the video. . . to foster discussion. The plain truth is engine placement. You cant tell from this video but the truck was 6 minutes behind the engine. So the 1st in positioned to use their deck gun if need be but that blocked the truck about 20 feet behind what was optimal.
There are 3 lines off. 1 1 ¾ smooth bore, 2nd 1 ¾ TFT, 3rd 2.5 smooth bore

That is one of the reasons I made this video available on You Tube . . . The amount of time it takes to get an accurate PAR is something that my not be on your mind. And the more complex the call, the more units on scene, the longer and harder an accurate PAR is to achieve.
As for the comments, they Fucked up we saved the home and all of firefighters returned home safe.
