Non-Catholic denominations claim that they did not begin new churches, but merely "reformed" the old one. In answer we ask, Did the True Church exist at the time of the founding of these new churches, or not? If it did not, then Christ's promise to be with His Church always had failed; If it did exist, then those who invented new doctrines were not reforming it, but founding new churches. Catholics Do Not Believe:
That the Pope is God and can do no wrong;
That anybody or anything may be worshiped or adored besides the True God;
That the Blessed Virgin is equal to God;
That images may be worshiped;
That indulgences give permission to commit sin;
That a Mass can be bought;
That forgiveness of sin can be bought;
That sin can be forgiven without true sorrow;
That scapulars, medals, crucifixes, and other sacramentals can give graces without proper dispositions on the part of the user;
That non-Catholics will all be damned;
That all Catholics will go to heaven;
That the Bible is the only rule of faith;
That anybody may interpret the Bible;
That Our Lord Jesus Christ established many Churches;
That outward piety is profitable without charity of the spirit;
That all religions are the same.

Jesus says "Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask him" (Matt. 6:8). This doesn't mean that, since God already knows our needs, we don't have to pray at all. As Jesus taught in the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8), we are to be tenacious in prayer, freely and repeatedly (repetitiously) bringing our petition before the seat of grace.

Paul says we are to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17), not "pray reservedly lest we repeat ourselves" (as is inevitable in ceaseless prayer). One of the benefits of the rosary is that it leads naturally to the ceaseless prayer and meditation which Scripture enjoins upon us.

If there should be any lingering doubt that God doesn't look askance on repetition in prayer, note that in Revelation 4:8-11 we find the heavenly host engaging in repetitive prayer ("Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty"), said "day and night" before the throne of the Almighty, followed by repetitious antiphons from the elders. The Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us that Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. • The name of the other video I replied to says that you believe that The Bible alone is a lie. That is the logic I use to see the situation as one of a man who is in opposition to the gospel. So now you think I'm a Jehovah witness? I'll leave you alone, you obviously have your eyes closed.

  • @nothin2pruv, it was my intention to explain and teach our Faith, not to judge anyone. If you think my eyes are closed, that is only your opinion....

  • "These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

    --1 John 2:26-27

    You have a choice here, dig in, and I'll keep showing you proof, or come to Christ. Realize he wants you because of his goodness, not yours.

  • @nothin2pruv part of your self interpretation problem is revealed in your post here. You believe "I need to come to Christ" when in fact I have....What part of the bible teaches you to be my judge?

  • @stevesilva, thanks so much for posting this...as a new Catholic...I was confirmed into the church and rec'd my first communion at this past Easter vigil...I can tell you, as you already know, it is the most wonderful thing I have ever done in my life. I have never been happier, or closer to Christ. Those who are non Catholic, and oppose this, but it is what Jesus gave us...his church and his sacraments. Thanks be to God!

  • The Catholic Church is the Fulness of Christ. This is seen in Her Teachings which do not change(Christ Yesterday, Today and Forever), in the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist where the Glorified Christ is present "Body, Soul & Divinity! Christ's Church has fervently believed this until Luther. See Gospel of John, chapter 6, verses 51 to 69. also Catholics believe in real holiness in us, not "Imputed Justification" Even St. Paul was not certain of his Salvation.

  • thank you LORD !!!!

  • How could that one person dislike this?

  • Thank You Lord Jesus

  • @stevesilvia: Funny how everyone who quotes 1John 2:26 always thinks it's them the verse it talking about......
