  • Silicon should be used...apply it once and never again ! This is the hillbilly method...it doesn't last very long

  • Aphro Fab 101

  • This is the style of repair that was performed on my gutters 1.5 years ago. After last winter's crazy storms and this summer's endless rain they're all leaking again. All the roofing cement cracked at the gutter seam. I'm not sure whether to try and scrape it out and try another method or just get new gutters. Definitely not paying someone for the repair this time.

  • thats what i use wet or not love roofing tar. i never herd of webbing.looks like it works good

  • So will this proses always mark up the extremely expensive and hard to replace cedar shake shingles?

  • Good advice for the do it yourselfer! Should seal up for awhile until they can afford new seamless eavestroughs.

  • Hmm.. For all of the "un"-constructive criticism I see here, why no video replies since everyone with an opinion is such a expert?

From what I can see here is that this repair accommodates for flexibility and leak protection. The rivets tie together the strength of the sheet metal to provide all the force necessary to hold the seam together while the tar patch keeps it flexible.

The only problem is the stickiness of the tar, so this is obviously a repair to do before or after the leaves fall.

  • . I believe the gentlemen uses the term “tar” metaphorically as Henry’s 204 is “Plastic Roof Cement.”

  • Are his mother and father brother and sister or did his momma just drop him on his head when he was a baby?

  • What an idiot...tar in a gutter. All you have to do is use some seam sealer and a rivot for that top edge. This guy has no idea what he's doing.
