Two things here.
One, this is a beta rom, hence the problems. SF2 special Champion Ed is the official release that actually plays faster than the snes version.
Two, there has been a 6-button controller on MD since 1992 which you can use on street fighter, the mortal Kombat games if you want.

This game was not really made for the SEGA Genesis general audience in mind to begin with. The generic controller only had three normal buttons, but the game needed six. Or if you are like me, you only needed four. The quick and hard punch and kicks ones. But anyway, why is there no speech of "Rounds" only "Fight" and why is the music going fast when the match just starts? Also the slowdown when nothing is even happening is bad. Much better on the SNES plus it had six buttons like the arcade.
