@MegaPalmtree123 Too bad you don't read newspapers or listen to the radio to know that Jay DID have a drinking problem and seeked counseling for it. And you don't hear him on the air anymore. So, put that in your vodka and drink it. You moron!

WRTV's "6" logo at that time looked somewhat similar to the "b" in the ABC logo.

I wonder if this is the same sign-off as the one they used in 1980? I had no idea it was Jay Baker, I've always loved his voice.

Wow. I totally remember this clip! I was just reminiscing that, after announcments such as these, there was static which meant I was overdue for bedtime! I had no idea this was Jay Baker. Very cool.

@ch20stn LOL..that was a funny comment..to bad most won't know your kidding..

Too funny -- I'd forgotten stations used to do that! and Jay Baker has become as much a part of Indy as the track -- i wanna say he's been on the radio as long as i can remember, but that'd make him sound realllly old, so maybe just as far back as when i was old enough to listen to q95 ;)

Love Jay Baker's voice. Would love to hear more! He's also great at impressions, and funny sense of humor.

hey 'mobilene' I heard that Jay Baker returned to Q-95 a while back aperently he left WKLU to go back to Q-95 they most have given him a whole lot of money to maybe just enough for him to come back just thought I should tell ya

yeah because there are plenty of cable stations....it not only gave your tv a break but I believe it meant the station was closed down each night

they should still sign off like this, but now we are always on the go so tv keeps up with this fast paced life we live

That sounded like Jay Baker, the one time Q-95 DJ and Bob and Tom Show regular. His alcoholism ruined his career, so I guess his WRTV sign-off is ironic.
