Intended to be a part of the 2010 Summer Travels series, the Massachusetts Turnpike carries Interstate 90 through its last leg of the transcontinental journey. During the journey through Western Massachusetts, the Mass Pike carries long distance traffic, whereas local traffic uses US Route 20 for the towns in between. As a result, the Mass Pike has a 30 mile gap between Exits 3 (Westfield) and 2 (Lee), a common theme in the west, but a rarity in the east.
This video travels the westbound Mass Pike between Exit 3 and Exit 1, ending about a mile east of the toll booths. Music is "Foreplay-Long Time" by Boston.
