The trial comes with a trial of shapefusion too, so you can weld it. Plus, it you scan the side and front and back, you can use 3d max and make a boolean to weld them all together.

Yes you can. But if you want to weld all the scann into one and save it then you'll need to buy the full version. Don't get me wrong, it's great just need some play with to get a good scann.

But you can export your data into another 3d program and save it there.

...duh you cant use a string and move it in FRONT of the camera, you have to move it in front of a light source and get a sharp shadow on the object you are scanning
