@vajyna i remember seeing a giant pogo stick in a mcdonalds commercial...
-
@KottonmouthSoldiers you ever heard the Flybar mega pogo stick
-
That looks really lame and stupid... besides being completely impractical. You just look like a lazy, stifflegged idiot dancing around
-
powerizers/power stilts movwe you at 22 mph, these move at 25. these were designed to jump further per step, for in disaster situations where the floor beneath you might be few and far between... but what it REALLY does is let you run long distances without tiring, which the power stilts dont do.
pistons boots lot less safer and expensive to keep running, but theres trade off's either way. civilians will be better suitted with powerizers, piston boots need more work.

u can prob run really fast but if u dont watch u can really get hurt.
I was born with ankylosing spondylitis that developed at an early age in my hips, and I'm an engineering student with, so I have a lot of interest in leg enhancing technology, i really love concepts such at this that are so simple in design however I don't think I could never use such a device because the impulse on my leg would cause them to become inflamed, any idea on how to cancel out impulse force to prevent wear on joints?

@iknowmy3table U might try using an exoskeleton from with powered and/or shock-absorbing pivot point joints.at the hip. the exoskeleton would probably need to go up to at least the waist in your case or even higher, to by pass the putting so much load on your hip joints.

maybe we could see them being used in a marathon run as a test for speed and distance endurance.

not the jogger is running at 1/4 the speed and at more the twice the pace of the runner wearing the power boots. You can be sure his oxygen requirements are significantly less than if he had to run at that speed, if he even could, with out the boots.

He appears to trotting. And he appears to not be a trained runner. It may be a different situation if he was running at full sprint and an olympic runner with them on. Even so, he is running at sprint speed, at casual walking pace.
