That is alot of timing, but i bet i'm not far off that with my 306 Magnum solid...it won't hardly idle below 24 degrees initial...This one is kicking my butt too... lol...maybe i should just go with a smaller XE Comp hyd roller...lol...less issues.. (maybe... knowing my luck... probably not..) I bet it is hard on starters...

@paintballer110 C.L. can be a good source for parts but there are alot of scammers, Summit, Jegs have decent pricing on performance stuff. Just take your time and don't rush the work you choose to perform, look for youtube videos for helpful tips. Good luck with your project and feel free to ask me for anything.

Are they the regular 40's or Super 40's.. i have Super 40's which are loud, but then added 2 1/2 tailpipe and quieted it down.. too much in my opinion.. Do you like the cam? I am really thinking about switching from a large solid flat tappet to this... and Patriot or Pro Comp heads.. I have heard mixed reviews about the Thumpr line...I am looking for torque and midrange. My 306s has it, just don't like adjusting rockers every couple of weeks.

@coldgin74 Standard 40's, I have them mounted just before the diff with turndowns. This cam requires alot of initial advance to be streetable. If you have some tuning skills then yes it's great. Before going with this cam you will need a distributor/ ignition system that will give you around 26 degrees at idle. MSD pro billet distributor 1 light 1 medium spring and a 10 degree limiting bushing from FBO systems is how I did it. Google "Street Sweeper Chevelle" this is the 496 recipe that I used.
