don't just keep your buddy in a small, unfiltered, unheated bowl! I know aquariums can get expensive... so here's a great compromise where bowl meets aquarium and cheap meets stylish! This will make your betta so much happier and he/she will live longer too!
I wouldnt have plants blocking the top bettas need to get air from the surface as well remember!

yeah. you can go to any pet store that sells fish and theyll tell you that bettas dont require a filter. theyre the hardiest freshwater fish out there.

i have six bettas. theyre all in six separate marina betta kits and none of them have filters. ive had them for a couple years now and theyre perfectly fine.

I have two betta fish.I let them live in bowls for as long as i rember and i just got them both a betta bow 2.5.THERE SO HAPPY=]

my friend has a betta fish who she named Blueberry that lived for years in a bowl with a plant and marbles. bettas do just fine in bowls although i wouldnt recommend bowls at all whether they have a filter or not
