well yeah you can say that, but this isn't traditional haiku. its american haiku. it doesn't follow the basho because its not supposed to, part of the idea of the beats was having a strong understanding of the rules, then making their own.

It helped that he looked like a Hollywood actor. If he'd have looked like Charles Laughton would anybody have listened to him? Actually Charles Laughton does a great reading of Kerouac, Google: 'Dharma beat Charles Laughton' and you'll hear it. All best - Al of Yahoo! Group: Beat_Happening.

Well, thats just like your opinion.... maaaan. If you dont like him, dont read or pay attention to his material. Why dont you pick up a nice Twilight book instead or perhaps Harry Potter because gee... theyre so original and thought provoking!

Just messin with you buddy,
anyways what book of his have you read? Personally I thought On The Road was overrated but I LOVED The Dharma Bums, that was a very enjoyable read.

Personally I think Burroughs is overrated.

i would have to completely disagree. I did not know the man but I would say there is a lot of self loathing in his works that I have come across
