I wish my doxie and cat would play like that! The puppy just chases the cat and she turns around and hisses. (repeat and repeat) heres hoping they will eventually get along.

They r just playing, if they were wild animals it would be worse, but natural. i have a daschund and a cat and they play fight, but my cat like brings my dog to the floor, its funny, shes fat lol but wen she doesnt want to be messed with she just runs away.

Woah dude, your dog is actually biting the cat in the leg/ear :( not very nice. Sometimes my doxies can get too hyped up a nip eachother too roughly too! You gotta watch for that stuff.

My doxie and can have the big sister annoying little sister relationship (cat being the big sis). Kitty tolerates doxie for a short period of time, then finally swats her and it is over, doxie runs away wimpering. Pretty pathetic really :)

Good thing they're familiar with each other and not really fighting or the daschund would have ripped the cat's throat out. Daschunds are bred to hunt and kill small vermin (I think cats are vermin) like squirrels and badgers, etc.

You're right about them being bred to hunt vermin, but that grey cat was a stray for about 9 months when she was young and she can be a royal B****, too bad you think cats are vermin, they can be fun and loving if given a chance :-)
