KYW - 2010 - O&O Open Revision Compilation

Since I posted my first look at the new O&O look, KYW has made innumerable tweaks to its version - mostly to match the other stations, particularly WCBS. The most recent - and notable - tweak happened this week, when the music - then the voiceover - changed to what WCBS is using.

To give you an idea of the changes, here's three late opens:
--Take 1, from September, has KYW's existing Enforcer cut and Paul Turner voiceover.
--Take 2, from October 26, keeps Paul Turner but changes the music to WCBS' Enforcer New Generation 2.
--Take 3, from Halloween night, features a new Brian Lee voiceover along with a different cut of Enforcer NG2. I have two examples of this - the 10pm "CW Philly" open and the 11pm "CBS 3" open.

You'll notice something odd during Take 3's 11pm open - a CW bug. This is no accident. For the contentious election season, KYW has been extending newscasts to provide more campaign coverage and take in more income from those campaign ads. Not only was their 11pm extended to an hour on October 31, but it was simulcast on CW Philly 57 with different ads during the commercial breaks. Thus quadrupling their ad revenue over a normal 11pm.
