FORGOT TO INCLUDE THE JOKE OF THE DAY!!
PROMISE TO INCLUDE TWO TOMORROW :)

PULL TAFFY

1 1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. soda
1/8 tsp. salt

Combine molasses, sugar, and vinegar and cook to soft crack stage. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Remove from heat; add butter, soda, and salt; stir just enough to blend. Pour into pans. Pull until light and firm.

  • @quill559 It would be too hard to cut when it is rock hard, better to cut when it is softer

  • Thanks for the help! I started work this year at Kings Landing Historical Settlement, in Prince William, NewBrunswick. I am going to be making pull taffy this weekend, and I have never made it before. (wish me luck) lol

  • Cool i just made this, looks almost exactly like it. Only for me it's very hard to pull and my hands keep on slipping off of it. I think i put too much grease on the pan. But it tastes good. Thank you for the instructions.

  • @yoyomax12 the job is going great, I love working there. The taffy turned out very good, one of the best in the village! I ended up making it on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors got to see how it was made and get to try it. I was even able to suprise a few with my new found knowledge of taffy pulls and the feast of St Catherine! lol Thanks again for your help!
