The war on drugs has failed. Pass as many laws you like people will still take drugs the and it is the low level mules and dealers that get the slammer. There is no moral difference between smoking crack or a cigarette and it is hypocritical to say otherwise.

I cant stand that 'everything happens for a reason' bullshit-it just exists so that people can feel better about a current situation and ignore it. NO. Nicole shouldn't have been sentenced to more than 6 months. Even that would have been more than necessary to "punish" her or "teach her a lesson". The idea of putting a bright, young woman with no criminal history in Prison at all should never be done lightly. Our society uses Prison and Jail to try to solve our self proclaimed "drug problem". Whole "War on Drugs" is nonsense to a Libertarian like myself (even though I'm a white, middle aged conservative)...
