Lecture on Dorothy Stang: Angel of the Amazon
by Sister Kathleen Harmon, Ph. D. (part 7 of 10)

Sister Kathleen Harmon presented a lecture on Dorothy Stang: Angel of the Amazon in the fall semester course, the Sacred Meal, at Drew Theological School in April 21st, 2010.

Kathleen is a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the religious congregation of which Dorothy Stang, martyred in the Amazon in 2005 for her work protecting the land rights of the poor and the ecology of the Amazon forest, was a member. Sr. Stang saw her work as radically interconnected with the Eucharist. The presentation will feature video-clips of Sr. Stang's work in Brazil.

Kathleen Harmon earned her Ph. D. in Liturgical Studies from Drew University in 2001. She currently works with the Institute for Liturgical Ministry which offers educational and formational programs in liturgy and liturgical music across the United States and Canada.
