John McCain at the 2008 National Council of La Raza Convention.
Note: "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" is code for amnesty.
"At a moment of great difficulty in my campaign, when my critics said it would be political suicide for me to do so, I helped author with Senator Kennedy comprehensive immigration reform, and fought for its passage. I cast a lot of hard votes, as did the other Republicans and Democrats who joined our bipartisan effort. So did Senator Kennedy. I took my lumps for it without complaint. My campaign was written off as a lost cause. I did so not just because I believed it was the right thing to do for Hispanic Americans. It was the right thing to do for all Americans. Senator Obama declined t o cast some of those tough votes. He voted for and even sponsored amendments that were intended to kill the legislation, amendments that Senator Kennedy and I voted against. I never ask for any special privileges from anyone just for having done the right thing. Doing my duty to my country is its own reward. But I do ask for your trust that when I say, I remain committed to fair, practical and comprehensive immigration reform, I mean it. I think I have earned that trust." -- John McCain.
Vote against amnesty; vote Chuck Baldwin for President.
Your definition of "hero" and mine are much different. McCain is NO hero.
He's been fu**ing up America for the last thirty years, always crossing the aisle to work with some worthless Democrat.
He proved without a doubt that he hasn't a clue on what the Constitution means by passing legislation that specifically contradicts the First Amendment. Remember "McCain-Feingold?"
Do your homework before spouting off about how great McCain is. He's sell his own mother to stay in office!

@drinkemt1 How is not completing the border fence and pairing up with Teddy Kennedy to create an AMNESTY bill considered to be "putting AZ's interests FIRST?"
Can you explain that to me?
With friends like Juan McStain in office, who needs enemies?

@flamer221 Then that vote will be unfortunate for you, and for AZ - he may be a Maverick, he may be "middle of the road" - but flammer221, he has ALWAYS put AZ's interests FIRST - I wish I could say the same for our Senators. I don't live in AZ, however my mother does, and she is a conservative, NOT a Republican, but an INDEPENDENT CONCERVATIVE! The difference being, we vote on issues and people not parties and animals!

Sen. McCain is not flip-flopping - he has maintained this same position throughout his career - If you don't believe me, look up his voting record!!!!! He has ALWAYS won a MAJORITY of the Hispanic vote in AZ - Not true in the rest of the country, but it is true in AZ!!!!!! He is an American Hero who has given his life in service of his Country - What have you done for it, how have you Served it? Sen. McCain, I don't live in AZ, but you have my respect, and honor! Semper Fi!

@flamer221 Yeah. If he had attacked BHO as hard as he is attacking JD Hayworth, he'd probably be president.
And the AP reported that he had 4 million dollars left from his presidential campaign that he's now using against JD.

And now, with his re-election in serious doubt, he suddenly supports the Arizona bill. Vote this chump out or you'll see him reverse his view as soon as he gets another six years in the Senate. Enough is enough. This guy panders to the illegal supporting La Raza crowd. Get him out. He's not for Arizona, he's against it.
