The market-based mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol were highlighted by Yvo de Boer at todays press briefing; Parties in Poznań are considering ways to enhance the existing mechanisms and looking at the role mechanisms will play in the future.

Discussions continued yesterday on a shared vision on long-term cooperative action. Mr. de Boer said that during the discussions, developing countries gave a strong call for industrialized countries to show leadership and ambition in emission reductions.

On the issue of technology, he pointed to the strategic programme of the Global Environment Facility to scale up technology transfer, with many countries calling for its quick implementation. Underling the importance of both financial and technical support for all developing countries, Mr. de Boer said delegates in Poznań were also assessing how to scale up financing, including the role of both public and private financing.

The reporting of climate change actions by developing countries was also taken up at todays briefing. On this important issue, Mr. de Boer said that delegates were discussing ways to support the preparation of these reports.

  • I am honestly embarassed by how silly some people of my country can be.

Please, do Your homework, and read something before you get hysteric about another massmedia lie, dont believe in everything said in TV. Global Warming is a lie. You figure out why and what for.

    Thank You...

  • Maybe our gov or president arent so smart and creative but there are plans of buiding nuclear power stations here.. We cannot simply limit the emission in next some years, we need some time.. And still worlds' emiitions depend most on us, china and whatsoever... sry 4 2 posts and my english anyway

  • Hey man, do u know why we (Poland) product so much emissions? Couse our industry depends in 99,9% on coal. We've got rly enormous ledges of this mineral (largest in Europe). If we'll limit emission our industry 'll simply fall down couse of no energy.. We've made a big step last years limiting emissions by 20-25%. If u ask why we've got no other sources of energy the answer is simply. We've got democracy since 1989 why the russian empire fu**ed off Poland.

  • Poland, Italy and Germany should step up to the plate! 30% emissions cut by 2020!!

  • make it good

    show us some passion!

  • what "unites us" should be the awareness of the danger in which we are of humanity and other living things dying !!

    No effort should be spared.

are we really ready to let go of our expensive habits ?

  • Too tactful
