Just a little experiment with my latest work in progress(ion) but controlling Ableton Live 8 via an IPad running TouchOSC over WiFi(ad-hoc). Each channel was sequenced and recorded using various MIDI control surfaces and samples with both static and automated effects in place beforehand, but this demo illustrates (like many others flying around), the future potential of this kind of setup that's still in it's infancy as far as live productions and customisable touch-screen controller interfaces are concerned.......OK, IPods/IPhones have already been able to achieve much the same, but screen real-estate on the IPad is a winner for me personally. The future's not only certain to be bright but now it's guaranteed to be a whole lotta fun too!! :D
With an infinitely customisable touch controlled interface as well as it's use with a veritable plethora of production and mixing applications the possibilities are almost endless.......I hadn't considered an IPad before watching other demo videos, but my expectations have already been exceeded.......
