Excellent review. This is yet another nail in the WTS's coffin and is further proof that they can't get anything right.

A "generation" is about 30 - 40 years. That means that at least 3 "generations" have "passed away", since they started up with their crazy doctrines in the 1870s. Makes you wonder how many more "generations" are going to continue to swallow this crap.

How wonderful it is that Jehovah has, apparently, rescued his earthly organisation from it's temporary diversion from truth regarding the generation! May we ever be thankful and fully determined to stay in step with our loving God's provisions, even if they turn out to be completely wrong.

Jesus was talking directly to those after he left the temple. If he wasn't talking about that generation, why say something that wouldn't matter to them?

I had not realised that this new teaching is actually old teaching, and of course since new JW@S feel that they might be annointed, this teaching will service them for a 100 years or more ! Unless of course they have 'new light' and start up their old prophetic speculations again. An ' old shadow' rather than 'new light'.

Just to add: yes its a life of fear and that fear is used to control your life so that you live it the way the governing body want : slave labor (knock on those doors), money and absolute power!

Exactly cherkas. There is no optimism, no hope... just a possibility that IF you are alive when Jesus comes back you'll enjoy a Utopian earth.

So a terminally ill person has no reason to be a JW. You live in fear that you might die tomorrow and not have lived out your only hope in life. Its a life of fear.

from what i remember they try to scare you that you will be dead forever or live on earth that will be like a garden and not die if you are not one of the 144000. Ofcourse they are not right but try to tell new converts that they are...
