Not to be overly picky, but... its actually an in-line six cylinder engine. Not a "V6" as is stated in the narrative. Beautiful Jag!

yea i bet you know this but you said v6 it is a striate six just letting everyone know and im looking to get an 83 jx6 anything to look for when buying?

You are correct...it is a straight 6 not a v6...my bad. With regards to the 83, just get as nice of a car you can find. A nice car will still be generally cheap. But to fix up an JX6 will cost big $. So start with a car in good shape.

Here's my logic; the 4.2 XJ6 drinks fuel like it's going out of fashion, so you may as well get the 5.3 XJ12 :-)
