High voltage means about 30-50kV DC [difficult to say exactly]. Look also at DIY on http://www.myzlab.pl/forum Frog_Qmak [kiesiu]from Rydułtowy, Poland

  • l like this video lifter doesn't blow out candle.

  • Because the candle is inside; if you put a match closely, lifter is able to do it

  • Do you have to use a HV diode on one side or not?

  • if you have a DC HV source- no, if only transformer- yes. Lifter needs DC power supply

  • It is as a beautiful tin-foil crown.

I shall be King!!! King of the nutjobs!

  • Alternative to helices?

  • Thanks, I think thats why mine isn't working. It's a 100KV supply, since writing my question I have found out that the maker recomends a HV diode for "lifting".

  • lawl balster u mean

  • When I started experimenting with lifters I had also problems because they didn't fly. It was because of too little input voltage, now I use 24V instead of 12 and all's good:) Wire? Use one thin wire from multi-wires low voltage cable [I call it "plecionka;)".

  • As thin as you can get without it breaking.
